Why the name Madison Heights?
It’s a question that’s been asked many many times, so here goes... We wanted a name that reflected our style of music and the way we perform it! - big, bold, brassy, American and soulful. A lot of this style of music originates from Detroit, so after a couple of hours scouring a map of the USA and drinking Californian red wine we found the perfect name! Madison Heights - a city in Oakland County in the state of Michigan and a suburb of Detroit. Madison is also strongly associated with The Blues via the legendary, much covered Madison Blues by Elmore James... Rock away your blues baby..we do the madison blues! And last but not not least, it’s a search engine friendly name that sets us apart from lots of bands who’s name begins with ‘Soul’; Soul Survivors, Soul Rebels, Soul Jockeys, Souled As Seen, Souled Out, Souls & Heels, Soul-O-Me-O, etc, etc, etc...
